When Curiosity Led the Way at JAIN Public School
About the News
Bengaluru, 4 September 2026: JAIN Public School, Jakkasandra, set out to move learning beyond the textbook with Perigrine Fest, a celebration of Science, Mathematics and Social Science Day. The Science, Mathematics and Social Science departments organised the fest, and 697 students attended.
The programme opened with the lighting of the lamp, followed by an introduction to the significance of the event. Dr Vathsala N, Director, JVN and JPS, Jakkasandra, was the chief guest.
From there, the school moved through its three subjects. In the Mathematics section, students used charts, puzzles, games, patterns, shapes, measurements and models to show that Mathematics goes beyond calculations and connects closely with everyday life. The Science section followed with working and static models, experiments and demonstrations. Students explained their models and observations to teachers and fellow students, and the experiments gave them a chance to observe, predict, investigate and draw conclusions. The Social Science section turned to society, culture, history and geography, with creative models, charts, maps and informative displays that reflected students' awareness of the world around them.
Across all three sections, students took responsibility for preparing models, arranging displays, explaining concepts and interacting with visitors. Their confidence and communication skills showed as they explained their work and answered questions, and working together promoted teamwork, cooperation and leadership.
Teachers guided and mentored the students through the preparation and presentation. The fest also gave them an opportunity to observe students' creativity, interests and individual strengths.
By the close, the school had become a space of curiosity and discovery. Students enjoyed the experiential learning the day offered, and the fest reflected the idea that when curiosity leads the way, learning comes alive.
